I will not be able to go into huge amounts of detail for each schema but just a little of what they look like. Coping styles both maladaptive and adaptive are examined in-depth in “Schema Therapy: A Practitioner's Guide” by Young, Klosko, & Weishaar. Coping styles which are not a cover up but healthy survival mechanisms. This was the book I really fell in love with, mostly because it contained some very powerful techniques that aren't available in Re-inventing Your Life.
